The Florida Gators have lost two games in a row following a promising 3-1 start, and now comes their biggest test of the season in the #3 Georgia Bulldogs. Many expect that Georgia will continue to roll - but we know better than that. Here are three reasons why Florida will win and hand UGA their first loss of the season:
3) Jim McElwain's record against Georgia
McElwain has yet to lose to the Bulldogs, winning each of his first two contests against them despite being heavy underdogs each time. In fact, Florida has won three games in a row against Georgia - two of which came immediately following a loss. History shows that Florida will win this game.
2) Florida's defensive dominance
Florida's offense has plenty of problems - but their defense has been one of the better units in the country. They haven't given up 20 points in a loss since the opener against Michigan. 1) Georgia's one-dimensional offense
...Georgia's offense is completely one-dimensional, making them easy to defend. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel are two of the best running backs in the country, but Georgia's passing attack is absolutely abysmal. True freshman quarterback Jake Fromm has been receiving a lot of praise for his leadership and intangibles, but that looks past the fact that he's extremely limited. Georgia ranks 109th in the country in passing. Expect Florida to load the box and force Fromm to beat them with his arm - which he hasn't proven he's able to do.
