It's a deep quarterback crop this year, which means there are plenty of QBs you can rely on each week. To figure out which one to play, follow my rankings. Only two teams are on bye, but Drew Brees is on a bye, which hurts. I only list the top 20, because unless you play in a two-QB league, you likely won't need to worry about anyone else.
Byes: Kansas City Chiefs & New Orleans Saints

Rank & Player | Opponent | Notes |
1. Peyton Manning, DEN | @NYJ | Solid matchup this weekend for Manning. |
2. Matt Ryan, ATL | CHI | Great matchup this week. I think Ryan has a huge game. |
3. Andrew Luck, IND | @HOU | Luck is having a monster year so far. |
4. Phillip Rivers, SD | @OAK | Rivers has been on fire this season and has a great matchup. |
5. Jay Cutler, CHI | @ATL | Cutler has been playing well this season and has a good matchup. |
6. Aaron Rodgers, GB | @MIA | Miami's been solid against QBs (fantasy-wise), but this is still Aaron Rodgers. |
7. Russell Wilson, SEA | DAL | Wilson went off against the Redskins. He could do the same this week. |
8. Matt Stafford, DET | @MIN | Calvin has been nonexistent lately (he might not even play), but Stafford has been effective without him. |
9. Colin Kaepernick, SF | @STL | Kaepernick has been great on the ground this year, making him worth starting. |
10. Eli Manning, NYG | @PHI | Manning has picked up his game and is worth a start. |
11. Nick Foles, PHI | NYG | Foles was better last week. I still don't view him as much more than a low-end QB1. |
12. Ben Roethlisberger, PIT | @CLE | A solid matchup this week for Big Ben. |
13. Tom Brady, NE | @BUF | Brady owned the Bengals Saturday night. You can live with playing him. |
14. Carson Palmer, ARI | WAS | I'm not sure if Palmer plays. If he does, he has a good matchup. |
15. Cam Newton, CAR | @CIN | Not a good matchup for Cam. |
16. Tony Romo, DAL | @SEA | Really bad matchup for Romo. |
17. Andy Dalton, CIN | CAR | Dalton isn't a terrible fantasy QB, but if you're starting him, something has gone wrong for your team. |
18. Jake Locker, TEN | JAC | Hopefully Locker is healthy. If he is, he's got a great matchup. |
19. Joe Flacco, BAL | @TB | Flacco has a decent matchup, but he really shouldn't be starting for you. |
20. Brian Hoyer, CLE | PIT | Hoyer played well against the Steelers in Week 1, and that should be the case this week. |
