NHL.com released a list of the top 10 U.S. born players under-25. Among the players mentioned were forwards Auston Matthews, Brandon Saad, JT Miller, Johnny Gaudreau and Jack Eichel. Larkin was not on the list but it’s easy to make a case that he is at least in the top 20 for U.S. born players under-25.
This is a very talented group of young players and Larkin finds himself right in the thick of American players to watch for in the future. His disappointing sophomore season in the National Hockey League was clearly one of the reasons why he was not named to this list.
