Unless the two sides can reach a long-term deal in the next month, the Denver Broncos will use their franchise tag on Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller, according to league sources.
Tagging Miller, however, will create other contractual issues, most notably that the Broncos will not have a way to tie quarterback Brock Osweiler to the team unless it signs him to a long-term extension.
Miller was the No. 2 overall pick of the 2011 draft, picked one slot after Carolina QB Cam Newton who the Broncos face in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday.
