The Dallas Mavericks will honor former Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo Tuesday, but not in the usual way. The Mavs will have Tony Romo dress and sit on the bench for the team in their home finale.

It's just a one day deal for Tony Romo, who won't play for the Mavs in the game. It's an unusual move by the Mavs, although it will certainly drum up interest for a team already out of the playoff race. Stein reports the Mavs would not have made the move if they were in playoff contention.

Romo, along with several teammates, have attended several Maverick games over the years. He's become a fan of the team and is now close with owner Mark Cuban, coach Rick Carlisle and Dirk Nowitzki. Romo was a high school basketball player.
