Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott has been cleared after being accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend, according to his father:
My son has been vindicated! Truth has prevailed! If he had voliated one of OUR core values I personally would have had him charged! #Justice

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed the elder Elliott's tweet:

Elliott was accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend while the two were in a car together. However, four witnesses say they didn't see an assault, including someone else who was in the car with Elliott and his ex-girlfriend. He was not arrested on scene when police responded to the alleged incident.
Elliott, the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, will start for the Cowboys in their season opener on Sunday against the New York Giants.
