It has been a tough week for the Dallas Cowboys after coming off a bad 27-7 loss to the Falcons, losing Ezekiel Elliott for six games, and the NFL Owners trying to remove Jerry Jones from the Cowboys. In today's Cowboys daily news and rumors, we have some good news and some bad news. For me personally, I like to start with the bad news then move into the good news, which is exactly what I did below.

Tyron Smith Injury Update
The Cowboys continue to practice without their All-Pro left tackle as he is currently dealing with back and hamstring injuries. After a game where the Falcons sacked Dak Prescott eight times, the absence of Smith is troubling news considering the Cowboys welcome in the Philadelphia Eagles.
After Smith missed practice on Wednesday, David Helman of The Dallas Cowboys reported on Twitter today:
No practice for Tyron Smith today, but Dez Bryant will practice #cowboyswire

The Cowboys were hopeful at the beginning of the week but as reported by Jane Slater of the NFL, it isn't looking like Smith will play this week and Byron Bell will play in his place.
A person with knowledge of the situation tells me Cowboys LT Tyron Smith will not play Sunday (groin). Byron Bell will start instead.

The Cowboys will play three games in 12 days so rushing Smith back may result in him missing multiple games.
Top 25 Under 25
Now on to some good news for the Cowboys. The Cowboys running back and quarterback were named to the NFL's Top 25 Under 25 List. Not only did both Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott make the list but they both made the top 10.
Elliott at age 22 leads the NFL in attempts (513), rushing yards (2,414 yards) and rushing touchdowns (22) since he entered the league last season. Prescott has scored 50 touchdowns so far in his career which to compare is three more than Cam Newton scored in his first 25 games. The future is bright for both of these players, which obviously translates to a bright future for the Cowboys.
