The Dallas Cowboys won't start Tony Romo following the team's bye week. Instead, Ian Rapoport reports the team will stick with rookie Dak Prescott against the Philadelphia Eagles.
#Cowboys are starting QB Dak Prescott post-bye vs #Eagles, source said. No surprise. Tony Romo may not be ready to be considered vs #Browns

The second part of that tweet indicates that Romo is not fully healed from the broken bone in his back. The original plan was for Romo to return as soon as he could, but Prescott's impressive play is allowing the Cowboys to bump that return date back.
Romo also did not practice Wednesday, another sign he's not ready to return to the field. Once Romo is healthy, the Cowboys could still elect to hand the reins back to him.
ButI if Prescott continues to play as well as he has, the Cowboys might not turn back to Romo, setting up a Tom Brady-Drew Bledsoe like situation. Prescott has guided the Cowboys to a 5-1 record so far, including five straight wins. He's completed 68.7 percent of his passes for 1,486 yards, 7 TDs and 1 INT. He's also added 67 yards and three scores on the ground.
