NFL free agency is well under way and the Dallas Cowboys have found themselves at the center of several rumors, thanks in large part to Tony Romo. The Cowboys lost more than they gained in free agency, thanks to limited cap space, but with the NFL Draft coming up, there's still time to make improvements. Here are the latest Cowboys news and rumors you need to know.
Kellen Moore Re-signs
It's not the quarterback news Cowboys fans were expecting, but the Cowboys have re-signed QB Kellen Moore. Here are the contract details.
Kellen Moore's one-year deal with the Cowboys is worth $775,000 but counts $615,000 against the salary cap.

That's a cheap deal for Moore and it might not guarantee him a roster spot. Even with the re-signing of Moore, expect the Cowboys to continue to pursue a backup QB. They've been linked to Josh McCown, but he's waiting for the Tony Romo situation to be resolved before he makes a decision.
Damontre Moore's Homecoming
The Cowboys took a bit of a risk signing Damontre Moore this offseason. The defensive end played at Texas A&M, but after the Giants spent a third round pick on him, his NFL career hasn't gone as played. He's bounced around the NFL with limited success. In five years, he's played for five teams with 10 career sacks. After a DUI arrest this year, the Seahawks let him leave, making the Cowboys potentially his last shot.
"I look at it as my last chance," Moore told ESPN. "Nothing's promised in the game we play. You can be there today and see you later tomorrow. You've got to take every snap, every rep, every practice like this is your last opportunity to prove yourself."
For Moore, it's a homecoming. He always wanted to play for the Cowboys.
"We played there one time, too," Moore said about growing up. "Raiders against the Cowboys, and we all imagined one day we would play for the Cowboys. So it finally happened."
But if Moore doesn't make the most of his potential and clean up the off-the-field issues, his homecoming won't be what he had in mind.
Nolan Carroll And Dez Bryant
With Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr gone, the Cowboys are counting on Nolan Carroll to help fill the void. After going up against Dez Bryant when Carroll was with the Eagles, he's just glad he doesn't have to face Bryant during games anymore.
"Now I'm on the other side of that. He's my teammate now, so let someone else have a headache during the games covering him. I just have to do it in practice now," Carroll said. "It was cool. I'm not going to lie. It's one of those battles that you have all game long, it's not just one or two plays. Me and him kind of went back and forth a few times. I remember the first game it was fun, but at the same time it was so tiring because it was battle after battle every single snap because he's bringing it every single snap."
Ideally for the Cowboys, going up against Bryant in practice will better Carroll. Because they'll need him after losing four key players in the secondary.
