The Cowboys Report with Tom Downey has all the latest Dallas Cowboys Rumors, including an update on the future of WR Dez Bryant. What the Cowboys will do with Bryant this offseason has been the main storyline and biggest rumor around the Cowboys. The Cowboys have been non-committal about the future of Bryant, leading to speculation that Bryant's time with Dallas is about to be over.
While Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram thinks the Cowboys' actions are signings they'll cut Bryant, Tom Downey isn't so sure. While Bryant's cap hit doesn't match his play, cutting Bryant would not be a good decision for the Cowboys.
Dallas already has a major need at WR, with Cole Beasley taking a step back and Terrance Williams not serving as an effective WR2. While Bryant's release can free up $8.5 million, Dallas has no plan to effectively replace Bryant. If the Cowboys want to put the best team on the field in 2018, then they need to keep Bryant. In the end, a pay cut might be the ideal route for the Cowboys and Bryant. Cutting him certainly isn't the answer.
