The Dallas Cowboys will keep former first round pick Morris Claiborne for at least another season. The Cowboys re-signed the cornerback Friday.
It's just a one-year, $3 million deal for Claiborne, reports Todd Archer. The deal can be worth $3.75 million with incentives.
The Cowboys traded up in the 2012 draft to select Claiborne. He has just three interceptions in his NFL career. Claiborne hasn't lived up to expectations in Dallas, and injuries have played a large part in that. He's missed 24 games in his four seasons.
The Cowboys are thin at corner and Claiborne will at least provide depth at the spot. Orlando Scandrick will return from injury next season, but Brandon Carr's future is up in the air.
