The Dallas Cowboys kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a 30-10 win over the New York Giants on Sunday, but they need some help if they're actually going to make it there.
According to fivethirtyeight.com, Dallas’ playoff odds are currently at four percent - which is the worst of the three NFC teams with a 7-6 record (Packers, Lions). Here's what needs to happen for that four percent to become reality:
- Cowboys need to win their three remaining games (at Raiders, vs. Seahawks, at Eagles)
- Both the Packers (at Panthers, vs. Vikings, at Lions) and Lions (vs. Bears, at Bengals, vs. Packers) need to lose at least one of their remaining three games
- The Falcons need to lose at least two of their remaining three games (at Bucs, vs. Saints, vs. Panthers)

Dallas will get some reinforcements down the stretch when Ezekiel Elliott returns from his six-game suspension in Week 16, and their Week 17 showdown against Philadelphia became much more winnable with the Eagles losing quarterback Carson Wentz for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.
However, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers could return from a broken collarbone this week, which would greatly boost the Packers' chances. And, of the four teams, Detroit has the easiest remaining schedule.
Dallas' game against Oakland will be on Sunday Night Football this coming weekend.
