Cowboys LB Sean Lee Could Miss Out On $2 Million If He Can't Play Sunday

Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee is questionable with a hamstring injury he suffered last week. He didn't practice Friday after practicing Thursday and Wednesday. The Cowboys being out of playoff contention would seem to indicate the Cowboys should play it safe like they did with Dez Bryant and shut down Lee.

However, sitting out Sunday could cost Lee $2 million. He has an incentive in his contract that will boost his salary next year by $2 million if he plays in 80 percent of the team's snaps this year.

Lee has played in 82 percent of the team's snaps this year, but missing Sunday would likely drop him below the threshold. DallasNews.com says Lee sitting out would drop him to 77 percent.

Concussions have cost Lee playing time earlier this season, including all of Week 10. If Lee can't play, Damien Wilson could see his snaps. Of course, the Cowboys could find a way to give Lee that extra $2 million if he misses out. They did something similar with Jeremy Mincey this year.
