NFL Free Agency is officially here, and the next few days will feature at least a few Dallas Cowboys rumors. The Cowboys have made a a few moves early, although they were mostly minor ones. The team might might not be done adding talent yet. With that in mind, here are all of the interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Cowboys.
Could Dallas Bring Back Greg Hardy?
The Cowboys wanted to land DE Chris Long, but he elected to sign with the New England Patriots. The Cowboys are now hurting at DE, with Demarcus Lawerence the only locked-in start. The team has Randy Gregory, but he's suspended for the first four games. Jeremy Mincey and Greg Hardy are both free agents and the rest of the players at the spot is unproven. Because of the questions at DE, the Dallas Morning News believes the team might be forced to take another look at keeping Hardy.
The Dallas Morning News wasn't the only outlet suggesting the idea of a return for Hardy. ESPN reports the Cowboys could change their tune if Hardy's price continues to drop. In theory, Hardy would take another cheap deal, laden with incentives.
Cowboys Just Missed Out On Eric Weddle
The Cowboys haven't really landed any major free agents, but they tried to pick up S Eric Weddle. In a feature story on Bleacher Report, Weddle says the Cowboys were the second team in the race to sign him. Weddle grew up a Cowboys fan, but ultimately decided to pick the Ravens over Dallas. Baltimore offered first and up their offer when the Cowboys would not.
Barring another addition, the Cowboys will likely enter next season with Barry Church at strong safety and Byron Jones at free safety. However, the Cowboys could continue to move Jones around to get the most out of his unique athletic gifts.
Lance Dunbar Re-Signs
The Cowboys have brought back another one of their own.
RB Lance Dunbar is re-signing with Cowboys for 1 season at $1.75 million, per @caplannfl.

Dunbar had taken visits with both the 49ers and Seahawks, but he's returning to Dallas. A third-down back, Dunbar looked great last season catching passes out of the backfield before going down with a torn ACL. If he's healthy, Dunbar should take back his position as the third down back.
