A late flurry of points from Chicago kept the final score respectable, but the Cowboys used a flurry of third-quarter points to put the game out of reach for the Bears.
Turning Point:
Dallas used a one-sided third quarter to turn a 14-7 advantage into a 35-7 lead. Chicago did well to make the final score close, but the lead the Cowboys built proved to be insurmountable. Cole Beasley and Gavin Escobar - not Tony Romo's usual targets - both caught touchdown passes, while Joseph Randle scored on a 17-yard rush.
Dallas MVP:
Tony Romo was excellent today, making sure not to live up to his December reputation, but it was DeMarco Murray who stole the show tonight. Murray finished with 178 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries, and he might have had two if Joseph Randle hadn't scored on his one carry of the night.
Chicago MVP:
You can't blame this one on Alshon Jeffery or Martellus Bennett - Jeffery had 95 yards and a TD on six receptions, while Bennett had 84 yards and a TD on 12 catches. They share co-MVP honors tonight, but they won't be happy with how this finished up.
Stat of the Night:
Dallas gained 194 rushing yards...while Chicago gained 35. The Bears struggled on the ground all night, and Matt Forte was never able to get any momentum going against the Dallas defense.
What's Next?
The 9-4 Cowboys travel to Philadelphia for a key Sunday Night Football matchup, while the 5-8 Bears will try to get back on track in a home Monday Night Football matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
