Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Tony Romo's rehabilitation making "excellent progress," ahead of schedule?

Tonight's bit of Dallas Cowboys rumors promises to be very heartening for most Cowboys fans--it is looking more and more like the Dallas Cowboys' franchise quarterback will be in good shape for the start of the 2014 National Football League season.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Cowboys' star quarterback Tony Romo "has made excellent progress and will soon move into the next stage of his rehabilitation."

The 3-time NFL Pro Bowl quarterback's season was shut down prior to the Dallas Cowboys' week 17 clash for the NFC East championship, due to surgery to eliminate pressure from a herniated disk in his back.

Tony Romo has been doing "basic core and stabilization exercises," which is the normal first step for somebody recovering from a back surgery of this type. According to the report, "Romo is said to be feeling good and doing well with the exercises, particularly over the last four weeks."

The report indicates that there is no definitive timetable for the Dallas Cowboys' starting QB to take the second step in his rehabiliation, "but he will likely be cleared in the next week or two to move to the next phase, which includes some low impact work."
