Dallas Cowboys rumors are just going to be getting crazier and crazier as the offseason wears on, but from what it looks like, the Cowboys' defense will be in good hands to overcome any drama or rumor which comes their way.
Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News pontificated today on what he thought the differences between former Cowboys defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and new defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli--
"This much was obvious: Even though Marinelli, 64, is only nine years younger than Kiffin, it was clear that he had a much easier time relating to and — ultimately — motivating players than Kiffin did."
George went on to say that, "Kiffin was away from the pro game for four years while coaching in college at Tennessee and Southern California before joining the Cowboys in 2013. He seemed out of touch with today’s more pass-happy NFL."
George points to Rod Marinelli's recent work with the Chicago Bears as proof positive that the 64-year-old former Detroit Lions head coach still has what it takes to motivate players three to four decades younger than him.
The Dallas Cowboys will need Marinelli's very best efforts to improve a defensive that finish 30th in the NFL against the pass (286.8 yards per game) and 27th against the run (128.5 yards per game) in 2013.
