The Minnesota Vikings remain stout in their desire to retain running back Adrian Peterson, but rumors still persist that he'll be traded before offseason programs begin in earnest. If so, the Dallas Cowboys are one possible option that has been posited for months as a potential destination for the embattled halfback.
But, is it actually likely?
Per David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, "probably not, but dismiss at your own risk. To say there is no chance ignores the history of a certain owner."
Jerry Jones has pulled off many a trade in his time as Cowboys owner, with 20 of those dealings involving trading out of the team's first-round draft pick. However, after the Cowboys refused to play financial hardball with DeMarco Murray, investing in Adrian Peterson on anything other than a restructed deal may not be in the cards -- regardless of Jones' unwillingness to commit one way or the other on it lately when approached on it.
But, as Moore pointed out, you never know with Jerry.
