The Dallas Cowboys are 6-1 and stand as arguably the story of the year during the first half of the 2014 NFL season. After years of criticism directed his way, head coach Jason Garrett is finally having his time in the sun.

What does that mean for his future in Dallas (if anything)? We'll look into the crystal ball in this latest Cowboys Rumors Roundup.

Nothing Set In Stone In Jerry World

Jerry Jones said recently that he is not interested in discussing a contract extension with head coach Jason Garrett at this juncture of the season.

Garrett, per Todd Archer or ESPN.com, 100% agrees with Jones' tact on the matter:

“I just know where I need to focus, where our team needs to focus and it needs to focus on playing our best football,” Garrett said. “The way we do that is we focus on being our best today, do a great job evaluating that game, get ready for the players coming in, let’s go to work. That’s really what I think about.”

If Garrett continues to apply the same amount of focus that he has all year with the same amount of success, the money will undoubtedly come along with it.

Spiller As A Cowboy?

As NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported before Buffalo Bills RB CJ Spiller suffered a broken collarbone in Week 7, he was generating a ton of trade interest around the league.

Rory Parks of Pro Football Rumors reports that the Cowboys had interest in Spiller last season and that the Cowboys could have been a fit with Spiller in a contract year.

Spiller has a player option for 2015, but his injury could muck that up. If he fully heals in time for 2015, don't be surprised if the Cowboys revisit their interest in the dynamic halfback in the free agent market.

Rolando McClain Isn't Thinking About The Money

WR Dez Bryant and RB DeMarco Murray aren't the only Cowboys stars who could secure a big payday this offseason. LB Rolando McClain could also be staring down a significant raise.

"We haven’t talked about it and I’m not worried about it,” McClain said to ESPN.com’s Todd Archer“I’m getting ready for the Giants…I’m just happy to be with the Dallas Cowboys. I’m happy with our success so far. I’m having fun with my teammates. Having a good time, gelling together and playing some good ball right now.”
