Nobody knows for sure just which side of the ball the Dallas Cowboys will attack with the 27th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but ESPN's Todd McShay thinks they could address a potential need at running back by targeting Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon.
McShay has the Cowboys choosing the talented halfback in his recent NFL mock draft, citing similarities between Gordon's running style and that of free agent DeMarco Murray:
"Gordon's running style is very similar to Murray's; he runs hard, is a work horse, gets from 0 to 60 in a flash and shows great vision and patience as a runner. He isn't great in pass protection or as a receiver, but he's getting better."
McShay adds that the Cowboys also have needs to address at cornerback, defensive line, tight end and, if Dez Bryant's free agency doesn't go as hoped, wide receiver.
The Cowboys are unlikely to target a tight end in the early rounds of the draft, but cornerback and defensive line are obvious options if they decide not to target a back like Gordon (or if he's already off the board).
