Dallas Cowboys right tackle Doug Free suffered a sprained right foot in the fourth quarter of the team's 30-23 road victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday - an injury that could sideline Free for the remainder of the month or more.
Per Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News, "Free could miss the next three games with a sprained right foot, but officials in the organization are hopeful he could return to the field sooner."
Jermey Parnell replaced Free at right tackle immediately following the injury. Parnell is a fifth-year reserve who has started just two games in his entire career and is mostly utilized in the team's jumbo packages.
Parnell did however help to seal the edge on a 15-yard TD run by DeMarco Murray - a score that put the Cowboys ahead to stay.
“[He] came in and just really responded well to the situation,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Monday, via Sabin's article.
He will likely continue to fill in until Free is fully recovered and ready to retake his spot in the lineup.
