The Dallas Cowboys have signed their head coach and coordinators to new contracts, and now have to make decisions on the future of their star players.
Running back DeMarco Murray and wideout Dez Bryant are both free agents, and both will likely receive deals that will make them among the highest paid players at their positions. Dallas has said their goal is to bring both of them back, but owner Jerry Jones acknowledged the difficulty in doing so.
"It's going to be a challenge," Jones said. "Is it financially reasonable? No. Is it possible? Yes. But if you just looked at it from dollars and cents, it probably doesn't look reasonable. You have to figure out how you get there, but at the end of the day you realize it's going to be costly to have both of those players. In general, loading up on one player in an area that just requires good, solid consistency might not be the way to go."
The Cowboys have enough salary cap space to sign both players, but they don't want to be as snug against the cap as they have been the past few years if they can avoid it.
