The Dallas Cowboys were reportedly at wit's end with young running back Joseph Randle after an October filled with controversy.
Randle was arrested for shoplifting early in the month, and did not seem to take the booking of his offense with any sort of perspective. He followed that debacle up by reportedly instigating a much-publicized altercation with star wide receiver Dez Bryant - a spat that prompted veteran tight end Jason Witten to come forward and berate Randle into shutting his mouth.
Despite the majority of the locker room purportedly calling for Randle's job after head coach Jason Garrett called a team meeting on the matter, things may have already blown over enough to save Randle for now.
Here's ESPN Dallas' Todd Archer with his take on the situation:
If nothing has happened yet, then I don't think anything will happen. I was a proponent for moving on; not for his arrest, but for what he said about the legal issues of his teammates. He was flippant and disrespectful to the police employees at his booking, showing clearly he was not aware how serious the issue was. The Cowboys have Ryan Williams on the practice squad, so they could have called him up. But since nothing happened and Randle apologized, I don't think anything will happen now.
