After finishing the regular season 12-4 the Dallas Cowboys headed into the playoffs as no. 1 in the NFC East. With a controversial win over the Detroit Lions, Dallas traveled to face the Green Bay packers at Lambeau field, where the team's shot at the Super Bowl ended.
A hurt Aaron Rodgers muscled through a calf injury and led the Packers to a 26-21 victory over the Cowboys. Social Media exploded when refs ruled Dez Bryant's catch as incomplete after Mike McCarthy challenged the original call. A complete pass would have put Dallas at the 1-yard line with more than four minutes left in the game.
Dallas' loss to Green Bay was the team's first road loss of the season. The Cowboys played great football this season and showed a lot of potential that had been missing in previous seasons.
Running back DeMarco Murray ran for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns in regular season, easily becoming the Cowboys' biggest threat. However, Green Bay was able to shut down the Dallas run game and in the end came out on top.
Dez Bryant continued to be a valuable player for Dallas scoring 16 touchdowns on the season with Terrance Williams behind him with eight. Williams stepped up the game and scored three touchdowns for Dallas during their two game stint in the playoffs.
Future Hall of famer, Jason Witten was more of a weapon this season than he was last season, but came up with only five touchdowns. The Dallas defense played solid throughout the season and played a large role in the team's 12 wins.
Tony Romo racked up 34 touchdowns this season and won his first playoff game ever. Romo showed more confidence this season and pulled his team out of sticky situations leading the Cowboys to have the most promising season they've had in years.
As successful as the regular season went for the Cowboys, the team couldn't pull out a big win in Green Bay and will be beginning practice for next season earlier than they would like. With just a few tweaks, Dallas could be a serious threat in 2015.
