The Dallas Cowboys suffered through a disappointing 2017 season going 9-7. This marked the sixth time in eight seasons Dallas missed the playoffs. The Cowboys have plenty of talent and expects to compete for the Super Bowl every year, so what needs to happen this offseason for them to get back into that position next year? 1.) Kenny Vaccaro, LB, New Orleans Saints
This past season Vaccaro was linked to the Cowboys in September as a potential trade candidate, so it shouldn't surprise anyone to see his name on this list. The 26-year-old is entering his sixth year in the NFL and after a season where he had 60 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery, and three interceptions he will be sought out for in free agency. The Cowboys need depth at linebacker, since when LB Sean Lee misses time, the Cowboys really struggle defensively.
2.) John Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Speedy wide receiver John Brown will be a target for the Cowboys this offseason since they lack speed from the wide receiver position. The Cowboys lack a vertical field stretcher and Brown would take the top off defenses, thus opening holes for running back Ezekiel Elliott and freeing up space for underneath routes for other receivers. Brown the last two seasons was hampered by injuries, but when fully healthy he is one of the best young receivers in the NFL. Brown's breakout year came in 2015 where he had 65 receptions, 1,003 yards, and seven touchdowns and if the Cowboys can sign that Brown, this offense will greatly improve.
3.) Greg Robinson, OT, Detroit Lions
Greg Robinson could be an option for the Cowboys as a swing tackle. The former second overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft has been a bust to this point in his career. He enters his fifth season in the NFL at age 25 and a team like the Cowboys may take a chance on him. The Cowboys struggled when Tyron Smith missed time last season and adding extra depth to the offensive line will only help keep quarterback Dak Prescott upright.
4.) Keenan Robinson, LB, New York Giants
The Cowboys need to add talented depth at the linebacker position and Keenan Robinson would be a great fit. When Sean Lee is on the field, the Cowboys defense is above average, however, when he misses time due to injury the defense falls apart. Robinson signed a one-year $3 million contract with the Giants in 2017 and will be in the same price range for 2018.
