The NFL trade deadline is just one week away on Nov. 1 at 4:00 pm ET, and as a result, trade rumors are swirling around the league. The Dallas Cowboys find themselves at the center of some of those rumors, and could make a move or two before the deadline. Here are three trades the Cowboys could make before the deadline:
Cowboys trade Darren McFadden to Lions for sixth-round pick
McFadden is buried on Dallas' depth chart behind Ezekiel Elliott and Alfred Morris. For Detroit, injuries are causing them to start Justin Forsett, who they signed last week after he was cut by the Ravens. McFadden may not start for the Lions, but he would definitely good a good chunk of carries - taking some pressure of Matthew Stafford and giving them some semblance of offensive balance.
Cowboys acquire Cameron Wake from Dolphins for fourth-round pick
Dallas' defense has been much better than anticipated this season, but their pass rush could still use improvement. This is a potential deal mentioned by FOX Sports' Cameron DaSilva, and it makes a lot of sense. There's no guarantee that Randy Gregory will be effective when he returns from suspension, and Wake would at least benefit them as a situational pass rusher. Wake already has three sacks this season, and is just two years removed from an 11.5-sack season.
Cowboys trade Tony Romo to the Broncos for Trevor Siemian
This is a seemingly outlandish rumor that has been mentioned several times over the past week on this basis - Prescott has proven he can be Dallas' starting quarterback, meaning the Cowboys are going to get rid of Romo this offseason at the latest. Why not trade him not to a Broncos team that needs a veteran QB to take advantage of their championship window? Siemian has proven to be a viable signal caller that could back up Prescott in case of injury, but the team reportedly has some questions about his ability to win a Super Bowl.
This is very unlikely to happen, but there does seem to be at least something behind this.
