The Dallas Cowboys have been the best team in the NFC all season, and after a bye week, will start their playoff journey this weekend against the Packers. Some are picking Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to win, but we know better than that. Here are three reasons why the Cowboys are guaranteed to win this weekend:
3) Green Bay's depleted secondary
The Packers have been dealing with a rash of injuries all year, particularly in the secondary. Cold weather largely limited New York's ability to exploit those holes in Green Bay's secondary, but that won't be an issue in Dallas. Dak Prescott has also already proven he can pick apart this secondary, racking up 247 passing yards and three touchdowns at Lambeau Field earlier in the season. Expect Prescott and Dez Bryant to do a lot of damage in this one.
2) Dallas' ability to pressure the quarterback
Aaron Rodgers has been as hot as anyone in the league, but the best way to throw a quarterback off his rhythm is to pressure him - and the Cowboys have been great at that of late. David Irving has emerged as an elite late-game rusher, and the Cowboys ranked fourth among all playoff teams in sacks during the regular season. Look for them to blitz more often than usual to get in Rodgers' face.
1) Ezekiel Elliott's ability to dominate the game
Another way to slow Rodgers is to control the game by running the ball, and no one is better at it than Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys. Elliott hasn't received a full workload in nearly a month as Dallas rested him to prepare for the playoffs, so he's rested and ready to go. He gashed the Packers for 157 yards in their previous matchup, and he'll receive a heavy workload this weekend. Expect him to capitalize with another big game.
