The Dallas Cowboys are heading into a crucial offseason as they try to build on the momentum of this past season's dominance. They have some key free agents of their own they need to re-sign, but also need to bring in some other players to fill needs. Here are the three biggest free agents the Cowboys should target this offseason:
1) FS Eric Berry
This would be a dream scenario for the Cowboys. Berry played under the franchise tag in Kansas City last year, and after failing to reach a contract extension with the Chiefs, said he "doesn't feel comfortable" playing under the franchise tag again next year. That means he'll test the open market, and Dallas would be smart to throw everything they can at the All-Pro.
2) CB Stephon Gilmore
Gilmore has demanded top cornerback money from the Bills in seeking an extension with the team, but Buffalo quickly shot that down. As such, Gilmore will try to get that contract on the open market. Dallas likely won't give him that huge deal he's looking for (fans may still have some PTSD from the Brandon Carr deal), but with cornerback as a huge need, they will at least see what the market it like.
3) DE DeMarcus Ware
This is Dallas' best chance to get a high impact player for a bargain. Ware's career is obviously winding down, but he is still one of the league's best pass rushers - a huge need for Dallas. A reunion could definitely be in the works - for the right price.
