The Dallas Cowboys have had some of the best players in NFL history on their roster, but that doesn’t mean they’ve had a few bad misses in the draft along the way. Here are are the biggest draft busts in team history:
3) DE Shante Carver (23rd overall pick in 1994)
Carver was a member of the Cowboys' 1995 Super Bowl team, but he was unable to really accomplish another else during his time in Dallas. He recorded just 55 tackles and 11.5 sacks in his four seasons with the Cowboys, but was out of the league in 1997.
2) TE David LeFleur (22nd overall pick in 1997)
Dallas drafted LeFleur to be their starting tight end, but all they got in return was just one season with over 200 receiving yards. He was a massive target at 6'7" and 271 pounds, but he was out of football in 2000.
1) DB Dwayne Goodrich (49th overall pick in 2000)
Yes, Goodrich was a second round pick, but he was expected to make an immediate impact in Dallas' struggling secondary. However, Goodrich played in only 16 games and recorded just eight career tackles during his two-year career with the Cowboys. He was waived in February 2003 after being involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed two people, for which he served eight years in prison.
