The Dallas Cowboys are counting on several players to have breakout seasons in 2018 if they want to make it back to the playoffs. While not every young player will emerge as a star this year for the Cowboys, there are a few who are primed to have a breakout season.
Some of the players discussed as Cowboys breakout players showed flashes last year, even in limited time. Others weren’t even on key contributors. The Cowboys Report with Tom Downey takes a look at 10 players who are most likely to have breakout seasons for the Cowboys in 2018.
The video above (and shown below) is from the Cowboys Report, a Facebook live show and a video podcast on iTunes. All of these videos can also be found on Cowboys Report on YouTube.
Check out the complete list of Cowboys potential breakout players below and in the latest edition of the Dallas Cowboys Report with Tom Downey:
- Allen Hurns
- Blake Jarwin
- Rico Gathers
- La’el Collins
- Taco Charlton
- Jaylon Smith
- Chidobe Awuzie
- Byron Jones
- Jourdan Lewis
- Xavier Woods
Of course, there are big questions for each of these players. Will Allen Hurns fill the void Dez Bryant left at WR? Can Blake Jarwin or Rico Gathers fill the shoes left by future hall of famer Jason Witten? Will La’el Collins prove to be one of the best swing tackles in the NFL? Can Taco Charlton follow in Demarcus Lawrence footsteps? Will Jaylon Smith finally reach the potential set for him before his devastating injury? Will Chidobe Awuzie pick up where he left off last year after his injury? Will Byron Jones become a Sherman-like CB for the Cowboys under Kris Richard? Can Jourdan Lewis become the ball-hawk he was for the Michigan Wolverines? Will Xavier Woods earn a starting job in the secondary with Byron Jones moving to CB? Tune in for our analysis!
