BOSTON: LeBron James was in the huddle watching Cavs coach David Blatt diagram a play when he looked up to the Jumbotron to see 16-year-old Aaron Miller on Tuesday. He didn’t know all of Miller’s story, but he heard enough to know he wanted to say hello.
James walked over and shook a shocked and elated Miller’s hand and rubbed the back of his head. After the game, he gave Miller his game shoes.
Miller was born with severe brain damage and was being honored as part of the Celtics’ “Heroes Among Us” program. Doctors believed Miller would be physically and mentally paralyzed for life, but he instead competes on the basketball and golf teams at his Boston-area high school.
