The Cleveland Cavaliers dropped to 26-17 on the season following Monday night's 118-108 defeat to the Golden State Warriors, marking their eighth loss in the last 10 games.
There have been questions about if the Cavs can beat the Warriors and win an NBA title as currently constructed, so it hasn't been a surprise to see Cleveland be among the most active teams looking to make a trade ahead of the deadline.

However, their activity is more than just looking for a deal. According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Cavs will "definitely" make a trade prior to the Feb. 8 cutoff.

As Stein mentions, the Cavaliers have been pursuing Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, who Los Angeles was fielding offers for last month. The Clippers have since remained adamant about keeping their current core intact.

Other stars who could have been available that Cleveland would be interested in, like Oklahoma City's Paul George, Memphis' Marc Gasol, and New Orleans' DeMarcus Cousins, are not currently being shopped by their respective teams.
With two first-round picks in the draft, including the Brooklyn Nets' pick that's expected to be in the top 10, they plan to use those picks to go after a star player. Cleveland is willing to part with Tristan Thompson in such a deal, and the Cavs also tried to deal Iman Shumpert this offseason.
