Cleveland Cavs superstar Kyrie Irving will make his 2015-16 NBA season debut on Sunday when the Cavaliers host the Philadelphia 76ers.
"I'm pretty F'ing excited," Irving told reporters on Saturday. "There were a few things I had to clear, but there was no rush on it. ... I've been ready to play, but biomechanically we just wanted to make sure everything was good so I wouldn't put myself at risk."
Cleveland head coach David Blatt said the team will keep Irving on a minutes limit, but he is still expected to start against Philadelphia. Backup point guard Mo Williams will sit with a sprained wrist, and Iman Shumpert remains questionable for the game with a groin strain.
Prior to meeting with reporters, Irving posted this tweet:
I'm back.

Irving has been out since fracturing his left kneecap during Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. His return timetable was initially set for three to four months.
