The Cleveland Cavaliers were in the midst of a terrible stretch at the end of February, losing three games in a four-game stretch, but head coach Tyronn Lue has turned this team around since then as they've won eight of their last 10 games. Let's get you up to speed with the week that was and the week ahead with our Cavs Weekly update:
Last Week:
Cleveland closed last week with perhaps their most impressive win of the streak, knocking off the Los Angeles Clippers 114-90 on the road. LeBron James led the way with 27 points, but the Cavs tied a season-high with 18 made three-pointers.
The Cavs weren't able to enjoy that success for very long as they fell to the Jazz in Utah the following night, losing 94-85. This was a "schedule loss" for Cleveland, who were playing their last game on a four-game road trip and the second night of a back-to-back.
Cleveland got back on track at home on Wednesday with a 99-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks, led by Kyrie Irving's 33 points and Kevin Love's 23 points and 18 rebounds. James sat out of this game for rest.
The team then closed the week with a 109-103 win over the Orlando Magic, officially clinching a playoff spot in the East in the process.
What's Next?
LeBron makes another return to Miami tonight when the Cavs take on the Heat, a game in which Cleveland will try to snap a 10-game losing streak to the Heat in Miami.
The Cavs will then return home for games against the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks on Monday and Wednesday before closing the week on a New York road swing, taking on the Nets and Knicks. Read more Cavs news in the Chat Sports iPhone and Android apps.
Injuries:
Backup point guard Mo Williams has been out for about a month with a knee injury. They expect to have him back before the end of the regular season.
