In the wake of David Griffin's departure as Cleveland Cavaliers general manager, the Cavs are meeting with Chauncey Billups for the second time. Billups has emerged as the front-runner to take over the Cavs' front office.
ESPN reports Billups and Cavs owner Dan Gilbert are meeting Wednesday in Cleveland, after meeting in Detroit on Tuesday. Billups is the only candidate to have interviewed for the job so far.
Billups and Gilbert have long had a relationship. Billups previously endorsed endorsed Rock Financial, which Gilbert's Detroit-based mortgage company, when Billups was still a star guard for the Detroit Pistons. Billups is also close with Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue, dining with him multiple times during the NBA Finals.

Billups has zero front office experience and is currently an analyst for ESPN. Griffin and the Cavs were in the midst of contract extension talks, before those broke down and both sides agreed to part ways.
