The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to upgrade their supporting cast and that's led them to enter trade talks with the San Antonio Spurs for shooting guard Danny Green.
The Cavs and Spurs have been in trade talks involving Danny Green, sources say. Spurs' asking price has been high, though.
— Brian Windhorst (@WindhorstESPN) June 22, 2017
It's not clear what the Spurs are asking for in exchange for Green. Windhorst's phrasing seems to imply that a trade isn't close.
Green is not the same 3-point shooter he once was, but he's still a strong defender and good enough 3-point shooter. He'd be an upgrade at least over Iman Shumpert. Green shot 39 percent from 3-point range this year, down from his 42 percent career average.
Green is actually a former Cav, as the team drafted him in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft, before later releasing him.
