Chicago and Cleveland were locked in a back-and-forth battle in the first half, but the Bulls were able to make a few more plays and led 55-48 at the break. The Cavs gained some ground in the third quarter, but the Bulls held them off before pulling away in the fourth quarter.
Turning Point:
Chicago went on an 11-1 run halfway through the first quarter which gave them a cushion they never gave up all night. Cleveland never led after that.
Key Stat:
Chicago's defense was the story in this one as they stagnated one of the league's best offenses and forced 16 turnovers that they were able to turn into 24 points.
Cleveland MVP:
LeBron James didn't have a great all-around game but still managed to lead the Cavs with 31 points.
Chicago MVP:
Derrick Rose was playing like his old self in this one, dropping 30 points while dishing out seven assists. Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah also gave the Cavs fits down low as Gasol posted 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Noah flirted with a triple-double (10 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists).
What’s Next?
Cleveland's first game after the All-Star break will be in Washington against the Wizards on February 20, while Chicago will play in Detroit against the Pistons on the same day.
