Instant Reaction: Cavs Shock Raptors With 4th Quarter Comeback In 105-101 Win

Both Cleveland and Toronto were playing their second game in as many nights, but the Raptors came out looking fresher and more energized as they took a 63-55 victory into halftime. Toronto extended their lead to as many as 12 points in the third quarter, but Cleveland fought back and went on a huge run in the fourth quarter to pull off the comeback victory.

The Cavs have now won eight games in a row and hold a 2-1 season series lead over Toronto. The last matchup between these two teams will come in Toronto on March 4.

Turning Point:

Cleveland went on a 12-2 run to tie the game 97-97 in the fourth quarter, as they hunkered down on defense and started attacking the basket offensively. That run seemed to stun the Raptors and energized the crowd in Cleveland as the Cavs rode that momentum to the win.

Key Stat:

The Cavaliers fell behind early due to a poor defensive effort, but they stepped up and played well when they needed to. They held Toronto to just 5-19 shooting in the fourth quarter, which allowed them to climb back into the game.

Cleveland MVP:

LeBron was forced to carry Cleveland's starting unit with Kevin Love and Kyrie struggling, and he finished with 35 points. Dion Waiters continued his strong play with the bench unit, dropping 18 points of his own.

Toronto MVP:

Center Jonas Valanciunas dominated the paint all night long, taking advantage of the Cavs' weak interior defense. He finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Point guard Kyle Lowry also had a huge game, finishing with 16 points and 14 assists.

What’s Next?

Cleveland has a day off before traveling to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on Thursday, while Toronto returns home to face the Pacers on Friday.
