The Cleveland Cavs and Chicago Bulls have traded runs all series long, some of them seemingly lasting a whole game. Sunday's Game 4 was a microcosm of that, as each team punched and counterpunched with long unanswered scoring stretches (along with horrible stretches of bad shooting) throughout the day.
However, it was the Cavs who'd have the final laugh thanks to our second buzzer beater in as many days, as LeBron James nailed a long corner two with time expiring to seal a series-tying 86-84 win.
The proceeding now shift back to Ohio for what amounts to the start of a best-of-three.
Key Numbers: 12
The Chicago Bulls were stuck in iso mode all day long. Chicago had just twelve assists on Sunday, caving into the Cavs' defensive pressure and hoisting up a multitude of contested shots without a whole lot of ball movement.
Cleveland MVP:
You knew LeBron James would have to put his fingerprint on this game to give the Cavs a chance, and he more than did so. James finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists while seemingly doing work on the court in three different places at one time.
Chicago MVP:
On a day when most of the team's secondary scoring options went cold from the field, Derrick Rose put the Bulls on his back, scoring 31 points on 11 of 23 shooting from the field. If there was still any lingering doubts that D-Rose could return to elite form after his rash of injuries, this performance served to erase them.
What's Next?
The series shifts back to Cleveland for Tuesday's Game 5 at the Quicken Loans Arena. Tipoff is slated for just after 7:00pm local time.
