Cleveland opened the game on a huge run and built a 20-point lead in the first quarter, but Miami fought back and trailed 59-48 at halftime. The Cavs seemed to refocus at halftime and came out on fire in the second half, extending the lead in the third quarter and cruising to the easy victory.
Turning Point:
Miami climbed back into the game late in the second quarter, but Cleveland started the third quarter on a 9-0 run to regain control and turn this one into a blowout.
Key Stat:
Cleveland's bench gave them a huge offensive boost in this one as they combined to shoot 14-19 on floor, helping the Cavs shoot 56.4 percent from the field in this one.
Cleveland MVP:
LeBron James had an outstanding all-around game against his former team, scoring 18 points while recording seven assists and 10 rebounds. Center Timofey Mozgov also had a huge game, scoring 20 points on 9-11 shooting.
Miami MVP:
Hassan Whiteside continued his hot play with another double-double tonight, reeling in 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
What’s Next?
Cleveland will face the Bulls in Chicago tomorrow night before the All-Star Break, while Miami has off until February 20 when they play the Knicks in Madison Square Garden.
