With about a month until the 2014 NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavs are beginning to work in earnest to find a replacement for former head coach Mike Brown.
Per ESPN.com, "the team will interview Clippers assistants Tyronn Lue and Alvin Gentry over the next two days for their coaching job, a person with knowledge of the meetings told The Associated Press."
According to the report, the source spoke on case of anonymity as the team is declining to officially comment during its search. Lue was reportedly slated to meet with the team on Thursday, with Gentry to formally speak with Cavs management on Friday.
Lue is just 37 years old and spent 11 seasons as a player in the NBA. Lue worked as a member of the Boston Celtics' front office from 2009-2001 before joining Doc Rivers' staff as an assistant coach.
As former coach of the Phoenix Suns, Alvin Gentry worked with current Cavs GM David Griffin, who was an executive during Gentry's tenure in the Valley of the Sun.
The team has already interview Bulls assistant Adrian Griffin and will also interview former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins on Saturday, according to multiple sources.
