Cleveland Cavs: Cavs to pursue Carlos Boozer in free agency, if amnestied?

Today's look into the world of the Cleveland Cavs may be a relative shocker to some, with the possibility that the Cavs could make a run at bringing baack Chicago Bulls power forward Carlos Boozer this summer of the Bulls decided to amnesty him.

In a recent mailbag for the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Mary Schmitt Boyer answered the question on whether or not she thinks the Cavs will attempt to court Boozer back to where he started his NBA career -- along with potentially trying to bring back guard Mo Williams as well --

"I think the Cavs actually might take a look at Boozer if the Bulls amnesty him and his $16.8 million salary for next season, though I don't think it would be popular with fans. Mo Williams never wanted to leave Cleveland, but the Cavs really don't need another small guard."

If the Cavs were to pursue Boozer, it would be in the mind of giving the team a defensive upgrade that the team has sorely needed inside over the past few years. However, he would most likely take away playing time from some of the team's young core -- meaning the Cavs would have to be really sold on Boozer's current skill-set to do so.
