Recently, there was a Cavs rumors and news item which posited a potential trade that would see the Cleveland Cavs send Jarrett Jack to the Brooklyn Nets for the expiring $8 million contract of Marcus Thornton.
While talks seemed to be shelved for awhile as the Nets waited for Shaun Livingston to make a decision in free agency, Livingston's departure yesterday to the Golden State Warriors leaves the Nets in need of guard help.
Therefore, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York, discussions about a potential Jack/Thornton swap are back on the table:

While Jack's contract would be prohibitive for most teams on the trade market, the Nets are one team who won't be scared off by the two guaranteed years left on his deal. Jack only has a partially-guaranteed salary for 2016-17.
In return, the Cavs would pick up a serviceable frontcourt bench player and some salary cap flexibility for the summer of 2015 once Thornton's contract expires after next season.
