Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving missed his second straight game with a left shoulder strain Sunday against the Houston Rockets, but head coach David Blatt says he expects Irving to play Tuesday against the Boston Celtics.
"Kyrie was evaluated again yesterday and we determined that he needed another day," Blatt said Sunday morning. "Unfortunately he can't play today and he will, I believe, barring any unforeseen circumstances, be back on Tuesday. We don't believe it's anything serious. It's just a matter of a couple of days to get better."
Irving hurt his shoulder against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, but was only expected to miss Friday night's game to the Indiana Pacers.
He is averaging 21.7 points and 5.2 assists in 37.3 minutes per game so far this season.
