Cavs News: Kevin Love Plans To Stay In Cleveland Next Season

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love has struggled in his first season with the team, and he's at the center of the apparent rift between the players and coach David Blatt.

Love has been benched during several fourth quarters, and Blatt recently made the statement that Love "isn't a max player", creating speculation that the All-Star will use his player option to opt out of his contract and become a free agent after this season. However, Love told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer that he plans on returning next season:

"I think that we will figure it out here, so I don't plan on opting out or any of that. I plan on being here. As far as leaving my options open, I mean sure, it's always there. At the end of the day, it's always good to have something but no, I plan on being here. We'll eventually figure it out. I think for the whole team, it's not what we expected, but I think once we get back to a full lineup things will be different. I pride myself my entire career on being efficient, so I'm going to look to be more efficient in the second half of the season for my team."

The Cavs acquired Love in the three-team trade that sent the past two No. 1 overall picks, Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett, to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Love is averaging 17.7 points and 10.4 rebounds a game so far this season.
