The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to make their second big trade in three days.
According to ESPN, the Cavs are finalizing a deal to acquire center Timofey Mozgov from the Denver Nuggets for two first-round picks.
Cleveland has targeted Mozgov for months, hoping the seven-footer can be the rim-protector they desperately need to make a playoff run. Denver had rejected several other offers from Mozgov, but two first-round picks was ultimately enough to close the deal.
The Cavs were only able to make this trade after getting Oklahoma City's first-round pick in the three-team trade earlier this week that sent Dion Waiters to the Thunder and brought shooting guards Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith to the Cavs.
Mozgov played for Cavs head coach David Blatt on the Russian national team, and will fight with Tristan Thompson for the starting center position in Cleveland. He's averaging 8.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.17 blocks in 25.6 minutes a game so far this season.
