Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is being utilized as the "stretch four" in Cleveland's Big 3, the same role Chris Bosh played with the Miami Heat's Big 3.
Bosh saw his production drop when he made the move from Toronto to Miami because he had to change his game to fit with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, and he warned Love that he would have to do the same with the Cavs before the season:
"I'm sure he's to the point, give me 18 points every time," Bosh said in June. "But it'll be a learning curve when he has to do it. It'll be very, very, very hard on him because you're used to scoring 25 a night. A seven-point drop? That's a lot. When you give up something like that, it's like, 'I can do more.'"
Love struggled to find his role in the Cavs offense for most of the season, but seems to have found his groove during Cleveland's winning streak. Bosh has taken note of the uptick:
"He's just getting started, but they've still got a long way to go."
