The Cleveland Cavs have put a 97-95 opening night loss to the Chicago Bulls behind them, winning four straight in a number of different ways. What have we learned about the defending Eastern Conference champs so far? Here 3 things...
3. The Cavs Are Using Kevin Love Correctly
Cleveland has upped Love's usage rate by three points over last year's average to 24.6. His shot attempts have ballooned from 13.5 to 16.6. Love is getting more looks in the block, giving him time to use his brawn and footwork to tally easy baskets. Love is a focal point of the offense now and the Cavs are reaping the rewards.
2. LeBron James' Jumper Is Off
James has struggled from ten feet out this season, shooting just 11-of-43 from the field (25.6%) and 2-of-18 from three (11.1%). He's also connected on just one shot from the right side this year. James is visibly frustrated by his shooting woes, including ripping his sleeves against the 76ers because of frustration over missing shots. He'll get better, but things aren't rosy right now.
1. Cleveland Is Still Elite
A host of things haven't gone right for the Cavs to open 2015-16 and they're still 4-1. Imagine what's going to happen when James inevitably starts clicking and shots start going down. The Cavs will go from a contender to a title favorite in a blink.
