Kyle Schwarber Transformation
Outfielder for the Cubs Kyle Schwarber had a disappointing 2017 campaign where he had a batting line of .211/.315/.467, but he has transformed his body and lifestyle. Schwarber was even sent down to the minors for a brief moment and is determined to never let that happen again.
“Personally, it wasn’t the season I wanted it to be. It’s a lifestyle change,” he said.
The 24-year-old is in the best shape of his life and looks ready to tear up the MLB.
Cubs Are Not Going To Sign Lorenzo Cain
Earlier in the week, free agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain was rumored to be a possibility for the Cubs. Whitney McIntosh of SB Nation writes the Cubs "are absolutely not" going to sign Cain.
The 31-year-old slashed .300/.363/.440 with 15 home runs and 26 stolen bases in 155 games with the Royals last season.
Cubs Opening Day
The Miami Marlins will host the Cubs on March 29, the earliest start to the MLB season ever. The game is at Marlins Park and is scheduled for 11:40 a.m ET.
Chicago finished the 2017 season with a 92-70 record, winning the NL Central. They lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games in the NLCS, but will look to fly that flag in the MLB's first and last game of 2018.
