NETS RE-SIGN TYLER JOHNSON

In a bit of a surprise move, the Nets announced Friday that they have re-signed Tyler Johnson, who they added to their injury and COVID-depleted roster just before the Orlando “bubble” opened.

According to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic, the deal is for the vets minimum and is fully guaranteed, meaning a cap hit of a little more than $1.6 million. Johnson is the second veteran free agent signing by Brooklyn in the last week. Jeff Green signed on Monday.

Johnson, 28, played well in the “bubble” after being signed on June 24. Johnson who had been cut by the Suns in February, averaged 12.
